Overview

Procyon Research LLC ("Procyon Research", "we", "us") is a software consultancy based in California, United States. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.procyonresearch.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website only; work we do for clients is governed by our agreements with them.

Information you give us

The site collects personal information in one place: the contact form. When you submit it we receive your name, your email address, your company name if you provide one, the service categories you select, and the text of your message.

Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, or health information) in your message; we do not need it to respond.

Information collected automatically

With each form submission we also receive your browser's user agent string and the address of the site the form was sent from. These help us tell real inquiries from automated spam.

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address, the page requested, and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and may keep short-lived logs for those purposes. We do not receive or keep those logs.

The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party content, and does not track you across other sites.

How we use information

We use what you submit to read and respond to your inquiry, to follow up on any engagement that results from it, and to detect and filter spam. We do not use it for marketing, add you to mailing lists, or make automated decisions about you.

Legal basis

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another place with similar rules, our basis for processing your submission is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries sent to us and, where a contract follows, the steps needed to enter into it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. It is handled only by the service providers that operate the site and our email on our behalf, and they process it only to provide their services to us:

• Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and runs the contact form. Your submission travels over an encrypted connection to a Cloudflare Worker, which formats it as an email and hands it to Cloudflare Email Routing for delivery. The worker stores nothing, keeps no database, and does not write form contents to its logs.
• Our email provider hosts the mailbox that receives the message.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

International transfers

We are located in the United States, and the providers above operate there and elsewhere. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Retention

We keep your message in our email for as long as we need it to handle your inquiry and any engagement that follows, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you contact us again. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Security

Form submissions travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and the mailbox that receives them is accessible only to Procyon Research. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we apply the same care to your information that we apply to our clients' systems.

Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it. Send the request through the contact form on the home page; we will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

The site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through the form, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use of the site after a change means the current version applies.
